Maker Robert (I) and Samuel Hennell
Very attractive George III sterling silver octagonal mustard pot on stepped, octagonal, pedestal foot. The domed cover has reeded decoration, a circular finial and a very attractive hinge. A family crest is engraved on the cover of a mailed and spurred leg. The blue glass liner inside the mustard was fitted later. The handle is reeded to match the decoration on the lid. The hall-marks are extremely crisp inside the foot and are also very good inside the lid.
Hallmarks
Condition :-Excellent, apart from a few small digs on one side and some scratches on the inside, which are hidden by the glass liner. There is a small indentation on the lid where this has repeatedly hit the handle when opened over the years. There is also an old repair, very well carried out, on the inside rim of the foot. The patina is very pleasing.
