Click here for a larger image George IV cased picnic set, consisting of two small knives with sterling silver blades and ivory handles and two small three-pronged sterling silver forks with ivory handles. In each case the ivory and silver is joined by a ribbed ferrule. The very sharp silver blades of the knives are each fully hallmarked at the base near the ferrule on one side and engraved with a decorative contemporary "T" on the other. The forks are marked with the maker's mark only at the base of the silver stem just above the ferrule. All four pieces slide into two compartments of a rectangular contemporary case with a pull-off lid.

Condition :-Extremely good . The knives and forks have been well protected by their case. The hallmarks are all very crisp and clear.
Hallmarked :- Sheffield 1825 Hallmarks .
Size :- Knives: 5.7 inches (14.5cm) long. Forks: 4.9 inches (12.4cm) long.
This is a very charming collectors' piece but these small knives and forks could also be put to many uses in a dining-room to-day.
