| Condition :-Excellent condition. The
hallmarks are very crisp and not in the least worn. The maker's mark on both
ladles is not so legible. Since these marks are close to the very crisp
hallmarks, one would assume that the reason is that the maker's mark was
lightly struck on a curved surface. Although not crisp, these marks are still
legible. |

| These condiment ladles are an extremely versatile
size. They can be used for serving cranberry jelly and other types of jellies
as well as any hot sauces such as chilli, where one does not want a large
helping. They are also very useful for mustard, horseradish sauce, etc..The
Albany pattern was first used in the mid -1880s and became the height of
fashion by the turn of the century. For more detailed information about this
pattern, see comments on the Albany soup ladle (Index No.1977). This pair of
condiment ladles is from the same set as the pair of serving spoons (Index
No.1947) and the soup ladle (Index No.1977). |
