George III silver filigree box of oval cylindrical shape with a
pull-off lid. The whole box is decorated in a most elegant and typically
neoclassical style. The base of the box and the top of the lid are particularly
decorative with loops and swirls simulating peacock's feathers and curled
fronds. This is repeated in the centre of the body of the box but here the
design is in the shape of a flower with a solid button as its centre. The sides
of the lid and of the main body of the box are decorated with frieze designs in
the neoclassical style.
