This is one of a number of medals struck by the Stuarts in their fight to regain the throne. Otto Hamerani, like his father, was a very talented medalist. He was one of the engravers at the Papal court in Rome and also made several medals for members of the exiled Stuart family. This actual medal was formerly in the "Papillon" collection.
