George III, elegant, sterling silver circular vase-shaped cream
jug on octagonal baluster foot. The reeded top edge of the jug is continued by
the reeding on the handle. There is also a band of reeding around the top of
the body, as well as on the baluster foot. The rest of the jug is plain.
Contemporary initials "ICD" are engraved in a decoratively entwined
script on the body of the jug below the lip. A full set of very clear hallmarks
is stamped on the underside of the foot.

Condition :-Very good, with a pleasing
patina and very clear hallmarks under the foot. A few small, insignificant,
digs on the body.

This is a handsome cream jug of generous
proportions. It has a capacity of just under half a pint and would, therefore,
make an ideal milk jug for breakfast use.
