Stock No. 2358	George III silver haircomb
	George III sterling silver haircomb fashioned in the shape of an Antique or Eastern Crown. The maker's marks are the early marks for Ledsam and Vale. The Crown is made of latticed silver and adorned with various types of raised decoration including studs in order to catch the light like precious stones. This art was more commonly simulated in cut steel jewellery.

This comb is an extremely elegant and eye-catching hair ornament and the teeth are long enough to keep the whole well in place. Silver combs of this type appear to have been a speciality of Birmingham, where they were produced in a small quantity and in a collectable variety of forms.
