Extremely elegant Victorian small glass toilet bottle with
silver lid. Circa 1850. The original glass body is of rectangular shape with
faceted shoulders. The silver lid is hinged and has a notch on the inside to
ensure a snug fit. The top of the lid is engraved "TOILET VINEGAR"
and the inside of the lid is lined with cork. The lid is not hallmarked on the
outside but might possibly be marked on the inside beneath the cork lining, as
they often were. The bottle fits into a rectangular brown leather box with a
lift-off lid which is cushioned on the inside with beige suede.
Condition :-Excellent. The glass and
silver, as well as the leather box are all in very good condition

This little bottle has a simple elegance which
would grace any dressing table to-day and would be ideal for perfume or toilet
water.
