Click here for a larger image Beautifully crafted 19th century Spanish cross made of damascened gold on blackened iron. Circa 1880. Probably originating from Eibar. The top of the cross has a suspension ring so that it can be worn. On the front, each extremity of the cross has a circular lobe in the centre applied with gold. The whole of the front and the back of the cross is covered with a very delicate feathery pattern of gold applied onto the blackened iron which is extremely attractive.
Condition :-Very good indeed with little sign of wear
Circa :- 1880
Size :- 3.9 inches (9.9 cm) long in all x 2.2 inches (5.6 cm) wide

Eibar produced mainly bowls and cane, so a cross is unusual.
