Spanish damascened gold on iron cross

Beautifully crafted 19th century Spanish cross made of damascened gold on blackened iron. Circa 1880. Probably originating from Eibar. The top of the cross has a suspension ring so that it can be worn. On the front, each extremity of the cross has a circular lobe in the centre applied with gold. The whole of the front and the back of the cross is covered with a very delicate feathery pattern of gold applied onto the blackened iron which is extremely attractive.

Condition :-Very good indeed with little sign of wear

Size :- 3.9 inches (9.9 cm) long in all x 2.2 inches (5.6 cm) wide
Eibar produced mainly bowls and cane, so a cross is unusual.
