Extremely Fine and rare silver medal struck for the Coronation of William and Mary in London on 11/21 April, 1689. Obverse:- Bust of William III looking right, laureate, with hair long and mantled. Legend:- WILH. III. D . G . ANG . SCO . FR . ET HIB . REX, DEF . FID. Below:- G. H. for Georg Hautsch. Reverse:- Bust of Mary looking left with hair gathered behind with rows of pearls and curls drifting behind, wearing a pearl necklace and a mantle fastened with a brooch in front and another on the left shoulder. Legend:- MARIA . D . G . ANG . SCO . FR . ET . HI . REGINA. On edge:- CORONAT . WEST-MONAST . XI . APRIL . ANNO MDCLXXXIX. (Crowned at Westminster, 11 April, 1689).

This is one of a number of medals struck for the coronation of William and Mary. This particular version was struck in Nuremberg where Hausch worked as a medallist and has been rated as Rare. See Medallic Illustrations, vol.I page 667 No.37.
