Stock No. 3039	18th century silver Masonic medal
Very attractive 18th century silver looped medal presented to the subscribers of the Masonic Grand Lodge in 1780. This medal was given to Milborne West Esq. Obverse: Winged female angel in Roman toga, standing on chequered floor, holding a long horn and an architectural drawing in the left hand and writing with the right hand on a Doric column: IN/ HONOUR/ OF THE/ SUBSCRI. Sun-like beams from above. In the background on left, a ladder leaning against scaffolding. In exergue: MDCCLXXX (1780). Reverse: Stamped round the edge: GRAND LODGE OF FREE MASONS IN ENGLAND. Stamped in centre: TO/ MILBORNE WEST ESQR. (engraved)/ IN GRATEFUL/ TESTIMONY/ OF A LIBERAL/ SUBSCRIPTION/ TOWARDS/ COMPLEATING/ THEIR HALL.

Condition :-Extremely Fine and nicely toned

This medal is most beautifully executed and even the smallest details are very crisp and clear.
