Virtually pristine George III fiddle pattern sterling silver
serving spoon with a Masonic inscription. London 1813 by Richard Turner. The
end of the handle in engraved with the following contemporary inscription:-
Jany. 11th 1848./ Presented to Bro John Wright P.M. by the Breth" of the
Lodge of United Strength No.276 as/ a mark of their respect for his untiring
persever/ance for the benefit of this Lodge and the cause/ of Freemasonry. The
full set of hallmarks, as well as the maker's mark are stamped on the end of
the reverse of the handle and are very crisp and clear. Maker :- Richard Turner

This serving spoon is in such excellent condition
that it would seem that it has scarcely been used and has been set aside as a
treasure. To-day, it would make a very impressive gift and the inscription
would be a conversation piece at any table.
