French or English silver- mounted coconut flask very finely carved in bas relief with a Trophy of musical instruments and books and another stylised one of fencing with two crossed foils with a right hand glove dangling beneath and guards on either side. The Trophy between these two has two doves facing each other with spread wings, standing on a silver shield. The doves' beaks are touching as though they are kissing and there is a double halo above. A native face is carved around the silver- mounted spout, which forms the mouth of the face. The realistic eyes are of silver with yellow glass irises and black glass pupils. The silver- mounted cork to the spout is retained by two silver chains which are anchored on either side of the face where the ears would be.

It is very difficult to tell whether this flask is French or English. These flasks were carved by seamen and prisoners of war during the Napoleonic Wars. This is a particularly charming flask with especially well-detailed eyes and the Trophy of the two doves reflects the owner's longing for the loved one left at home.
