The tapering stem has a double ball terminal at its base. A very attractive baroque frieze is engraved all around on the upper and lower sides of the opening. On the front side of the body, above this frieze is engraved ELIZ: MILLS. At the base of the front of the body, beneath the lower frieze is engraved BRISTOL. The stem is engraved with an acanthus design at top and bottom on both sides.

Size :- 4.2 inches (10.7 cm) long x 2 inches (5.1 cm) wide
Weight :- 0.85 ozt (26.3 g)
As is very often the case, the scissors have been lost over the course of time. Early 18th century scissors cases are rare in such extremely good condition and the fact that the name of the original owner and of the town is engraved on this object adds to its rarity.
