Very elegant pair of George III silver, Old English
pattern, serving spoons. By Hester Bateman, London 1790. The spoons are very
nicely shaped and have a good balance. Each spoon has a family crest engraved
at the end of the stem, depicting a squirrel rampant facing left and eating a
nut. The full set of hallmarks is stamped on the reverse of each stem and the
marks are crisp and clear.
