Victorian University of Aberdeen, silver gilt, Anatomy Prize medal in extremely good condition. The obverse is engraved with the coat of arms and motto of the University of Aberdeen within a rococo border. The hallmarks are also stamped on this side, showing the makers' mark, the town mark. the date mark and the silver standard mark. The reverse is engraved as follows: "THE / FIFE JAMIESON / MEMORIAL MEDAL / INSTITUTED 1882 / FOR DISTINCTION IN THE / ANATOMY CLASS / UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN / GAINED BY / JAMES GILLESPIE / SESSION 1890-91".

Condition :-Extremely fine. The engraving and hallmarks are very crisp and the gilding shows very little sign of wear

Size :- 1.8 inches diameter (45.7 mm)
 
The fact that this medal is silver gilt and so well hallmarked shows it to be a medal of some importance. It is such a decorative piece that it could very easily be worn as an attractive pendant.
