Silver medal executed early in 1667 by John Roettier. Obverse: Bust of Charles II laureate, hair long, facing right. Reverse: Brittannia on the sea-shore revues her navies sailing on the ocean under a meridian sun. Inscription: FAVENTE DEO (God being propitious). Further inscription of edge. MI535/186).

This medal commemorates the extraordinary efforts made by England during 1666 to increase her navy in just a few weeks and thus make it the most supreme naval fighting force that England had ever possessed. Britannia, on the reverse, is a portrait of Mrs. Stuart, later Duchess of Richmond, who was the fashionable beauty at Court at this time.
