Click here for a larger image 18th century silver gilt masonic jewel, incorporating a loop for a ribbon. The jewel is very decoratively pierced and engraved to show a number of masonic symbols. On one side of the medal, below a meridian sun, on a banner between two pillars, is inscribed "SIT.LUX.ET.LUX.FUTI". The banner on the other side of the medal is not inscribed.
Condition :-Excellent and very crisp. Slight wear to the gilding on the outside rim of the medal. Otherwise, extremely fine.
Circa :- 1780 .
Size :- 1.95 inches (4.95cm) long x 1.4 inches (3.6cm) wide.
Weight :- 0.23ozt (7.3g)
This jewel is extremely decorative and in very good condition. Well preserved masonic jewels from the 18th century are hard to find.
