This pair of beakers was quite probably part of a larger set of 12 or more. They are very pleasing to hold. The maker of these beakers, John Samuel Hunt, was a nephew by marriage of Paul Storr and had been assisting Storr since at least 1810. Hunt became a partner in Storr's firm of Storr & Mortimer. On Storr's retirement in 1838, the firm became Mortimer & Hunt. On John Mortimer's retirement in 1843, the firm was named Hunt & Roskell and was listed as silversmiths and jewellers to Her Majesty Queen Victoria.
