Click here for a larger image A most attractive bell-shaped goblet on a square base. The body is beautifully engraved with the initials and name of Sophia Farmer, the original owner, together with her crest.
Maker :- Peter, Ann and William Bateman
Condition :-Impeccable condition throughout. The hall-marks are struck inside the goblet's foot and are therefore well protected and very clear. The engraving is above average in quality and is still crisp.

Peter was Hester Bateman's second son. Ann was the widow of Jonathan, Hester Bateman's third son. William was the son of Ann and Jonathan and therefore, Hester Bateman's grandson. This goblet has all the grace of the Bateman family workmanship.
