George III sterling silver meat skewer of heavy gauge with ring finial in the shape of a ribbon. On one side of the skewer, near the finial, are the very deep and crisp hallmarks. Lightly engraved on the other side of the skewer, near the finial, is the crest of a puma erased supported by a ducal coronet. Maker :- Jonathan Payne

Condition :-Some surface scratches due to wear and age but the hallmarks are excellent, deep and crisp. The gauge of silver is very good.

Although meat skewer finials are found in many shapes, the ribbon finial is very much sought after. This skewer would make an elegant addition to any desk.
