GEORGE III Set of Six Sterling Silver Hanoverian Three Pronged Table Forks. London 1763.

GEORGE III Set of Six Sterling Silver Hanoverian Three Pronged Table Forks. London 1763.

£2,400

Good set of six GEORGE III sterling silver Hanoverian three pronged table forks.
Maker: Possibly William Withers. London 1763.

The tines are of a good length and the hallmarks which are stamped on the reverse base of the stem are clear and legible on four of the forks but are rubbed and difficult to read on the other two. The top of the reverse of each of the stems has a contemporary engraving of the head of a goat looking right.
Originally, these robust six forks were part of a larger set and have plenty of use left.

Length: circa 7.3 inches (18.54cm)
Weight: 12 troy ounces (373 grams) the six.
