IMPRESSIVE PAIR OF VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER KNIFE RESTS OF GOOD WEIGHT.
Makers: Charles Reily and George Storer. London 1848.
On each end of the central bar there are three decoratively lobed stabilisers. In the centre of one is an English rose and the other has a circular disc engraved with a contemporary family crest of a right arm bare to the elbow holding a pick.
The full set of hallmarks and the maker's mark are both stamped on one end on the left edge and top of the lobes.
These are unusually large knife rests and would probably have been used for a carving knife and fork.
