Charming Victorian sterling silver miniature modelled as a wickerwork basket.

This basket is beautifully crafted and the two looped handles are each applied to the body with leaf decoration. It would make a very useful addition to a dressing table to keep safe small items such as rings, cuff links etc. Alternatively, it would make an excellent talking piece on the dining table for various condiments or sweets.
The full set of hallmarks is stamped on one side of the basket near the top rim.
E H Stockwell was renowned for his innovative presentations of objects in every day use.
