Very original Victorian sterling silver novelty scent spray in the shape of a watering can.
Maker: E H Stockwell. London 1882.

This item was retailed by H Lewis, 172 New Bond Street, London. Their name and address are printed below the hallmarks on the base.
Stockwell was renowned as a maker of novelty items which were all the rage with the Victorians and today would make charming and innovative gifts.

The full set of hallmarks is very clearly stamped on the base of the watering can and also on the lid. In order to fill or to spray, the lid of the can (by the handle) is depressed.
