Unusual and exotic pair of parcel gilt Victorian serving spoons.

Maker: Frederick Elkington for Elkington & Co. London 1872.



The design of these spoons has a strong Egyptian influence and they reflect Elkingtons ever expanding skill in design and the perfection of manufacturing technics.

It was the only British company to consistently win the highest awards at all seven of the International Exhibitions held from 1851-1878.

The full set of hallmarks is clearly stamped on the reverse of each stem.



This pair of spoons were clearly designed for serving desserts and would add a touch of eastern charm to any platter.
